Women's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision at Lebanon Valley

Annville, PA (October 30, 2024) - The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Lebanon Valley College in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Lebanon Valley - 2, DeSales - 1
  • Records: DeSales (5-11-2 overall, 2-3-1 MAC Freedom); Lebanon Valley (7-8-2 overall,  MAC Freedom)
  • The loss drops the Bulldogs into a four-way tie for third place entering the final weekend of the season. 
  • DSU will host King's College in the regular season finale on Saturday at Noon and can clinch a spot in the postseason tournament with a win over the Monarchs. A tie could also get the Bulldogs in pending other results across the conference.
  • The loss snaps a four-game win streak in the series and drops DSU to 6-17 all-time vs. Lebanon Valley.
How it Happened
  • LVC took a 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute scoring off a corner kick, holding that lead into halftime.
  • It remained a one goal game into the 83rd minute when the Flying Dutchmen got an insurance goal.
  • DSU cut into the lead at 85:52 when sophomore Jaden Cook scored but the Bulldogs were unable to get the tying marker.

  • The goal was Cook's first career goal for the Bulldogs.
  • Senior Emma Ribeiro added an assist on the Cook goal.
  • First-year Saige Santa Cruz made five saves in goal for the Bulldogs.
For the Foes
  • Abrielle Miller and Megan Ressler scored for LVC.
  • Camryn Porter made three saves in goal for the Flying Dutchmen.
