Women's Soccer Clinches Playoff Spot in 3-0 Win over King's

Center Valley, PA (November 2, 2024) - Senior Emma Ribeiro had a goal and two assists leading the DeSales University women's soccer team past King's College, 3-0, clinching a spot in the MAC Freedom Postseason Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

  • The win clinches a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament as the Bulldogs earn the #3 seed finishing the regular season in third place in the MAC Freedom.
  • DSU will travel to second seeded Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals on Wednesday evening with a start time of 7:00 pm.
  • DeSales has now won six straight in the series with the Monarchs improving to 25-4 all-time vs. King's.
How it Happened
  • DSU took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break when sophomore Jaden Cook scored her second goal in as many games off assists from Ribeiro and junior Madison O'Connor.
  • O'Connor gave DeSales an important insurance goal in the 55th minute off an assist from Ribeiro.
  • Ribeiro then provided the exclamation point earning and scoring on a PK in the 64th minute.

  • Ribeiro now has 79 career points, one shy of 80 for her career.
  • O'Connor had a goal, her fourth of the year, and one assist in the win.
  • Cook has now scored in back-to-back games, her first two goals of the season.
