Doylestown, PA (October 5, 2024) - The DeSales University men's soccer team opened MAC Freedom play with a 2-0 win over Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 2, Delaware Valley - 0
• Records: DeSales (9-2-0, 1-0 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (7-3-2, 0-1 MAC Freedom)
• This was DeSales' 22nd straight win over the Aggies and improves its all-time record vs. DVU to 29-6-2. 
• Bulldogs get their eighth shutout win of the season. 

How it Happened

• The Bulldogs got the scoring started early in this one when junior Kevin Krall found fellow junior Colin Coffield on a through pass between two Aggie defenders which Coffield would then take one dribble with and blast a left footed shot that beat the keeper top shelf.  
• Krall once again orchestrated the insurance goal in the 89th minute off a 3 on 2 breakaway in which he would find sophomore Lucas Heberling for the goal and the final tally. 

Top Bulldog Performers

• Krall had two assists in the win giving him a team-high five on the season.
• Coffield scored his second goal of the season, while Heberling netted his first.
• First-year Jimmy Shensky made five saves in goal and recorded the shutout win. 

For the Foes

• Aiden Lane had four saves for the Aggies. 

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales had a 13-11 advantage in shots and 6-5 edge in shots on goal. 
• The Aggies took six of eight corners in the game.
