Glenside, PA (November 6, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team rebounded from a first set loss to sweep the next three in a 3-1 win over Arcadia University in the MAC Freedom regular season finale on Wednesday evening.
The win (22-25, 25-16, 25-16, 25-18) clinches a first place tie with Stevens in the MAC Freedom standings. DeSales will be the #2 seed in next week's MAC Freedom postseason tournament and will host the #3 seed, Misericordia University, in the semifinals on Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm in Billera Hall.
After dropping the first set on Wednesday, DeSales stormed past the Knights the rest of the way totaling 13 team blocks and 13 aces in the match.
First-yearÂ
Allison Reimer continued her outstanding season with a team-high 13 kills, hitting .256. Fellow first-yearÂ
Brooke Signorella, seniorÂ
Paige Lewis, and sophomoreÂ
Mackenzie Fox each had six kills.
SeniorÂ
Samantha Worontzoff finished with five kills and eight blocks in the win. Lewis had four blocks and Signorella, Reimer, Fox, and juniorÂ
Joy Kindall all had three blocks.
First-yearÂ
Grace Pfaff led the defense with 14 digs and first-yearÂ
Kylie Campbell had 12 digs. Lewis totaled six aces, and sophomoreÂ
Bryanna Purisima finished with 19 assists.
The Bulldogs are back in action this weekend traveling to Kean University for a tri-match with Kean and Baruch College.
