Balanced Attack Leads Women's Basketball past Centenary, 76-56

Center Valley, PA (December 1, 2024) - Four players were in double digits leading the DeSales University women's basketball team past Centenary University, 76-56, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • Trailing 5-3 early, the Bulldogs dominated the rest of the first quarter out-scoring Centenary 25-4 over the span of eight minutes to open up an 18-point lead (27-9) near the end of the quarter.
  • Centenary chipped away at the margin in the second quarter getting within nine at the 5:15 mark and then again at the end of the quarter to trail, 47-38, at the halftime break.
  • Leading by nine early in the third quarter, DSU used a 14-4 run led by junior Sammi White with the first six points and senior Morgan Sterner adding five points later in the run to take a 63-44 lead.
  • The lead was 14 points after three quarters of play and never fell below 12 in the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs posted the final 20-point win.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Sterner led the way in the scoring column with 18 points and added three steals.
  • White recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, adding four assists, three steals, and two blocked shots.
  • Junior Mikaili Donmoyer added 15 points and three steals.
  • First-year Alexis Berger also reached double digits with 11 points.
For the Foes
  • Vatijah Davis and Kaylie Elsbree each had 14 points to lead the Cyclones.
  • Brie Opdyke added 12 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales shot 45.3 percent from the field and hit 9 3's.
  • The Bulldogs forced 20 Cyclone turnovers leading to 29 points off those turnovers.
