Center Valley, PA (February 14, 2024) - The #15 DeSales University men's basketball out-scored Misericordia University, 22-4, over the final 9:39, to record its 19th straight, 74-61, over the Cougars in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened

• Tied at eight early, DeSales used a 12-2 run to take a 20-10 lead 10 minutes into the game.
• The Cougars responded with 10 straight points to tie game at 20 as the two teams went back-and-forth over the final seven minutes of the first-half with MU clinging to a 34-32 halftime lead.
• It remained a back-and-forth battle with neither team leading by more than four points until Misericordia went up 57-52 at the 9:55 mark on a three from Derek Smith.
• DSU dominated from that point forward scoring 12 straight points to take a 65-57 lead and finishing the game on a 22-4 over the final 9:39 to record its 19th straight win and stay unbeaten in MAC Freedom play.

• Senior Caleb Gibbs controlled the paint recording his seventh double-double of the year with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
• Senior Elijah Eberly had 13 points off the bench.
• Junior Devin Atkinson added 12 points off the bench, seven of which came during the game-ending spurt.
• Senior Mason Barnes had eight points and six dimes, while fellow senior Jordan Holmqvist had eight points, all in the second-half.

For the Foes

• Joseph Baldachino led the Cougars with 16 points.
• Nate Kreitzer added 14 points and four assists.
• Kevin Lazdowsky and Nick Hornung each had 10 points in the loss.
