Center Valley, PA (March 13, 2024) - The DeSales University softball opened up its 2024 home schedule splitting a non-conference doubleheader with Centenary University on Wednesday afternoon.
Game One (W/9-4)
The Bulldogs took a 3-0 lead in this one when first-yearÂ
Meghan Sabo hit a three-run home run to dead centerfield in the bottom of the second inning.
Centenary clawed back and took a 4-3 lead in the top of the sixth inning after scoring once in the fourth, once in the fifth, and twice in the sixth.
DSU rallied scoring six times in the bottom of the sixth inning including a two-RBI double from first-yearÂ
Kiara Castera and two-RBI triple from seniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli.
JuniorÂ
Rachel Lowry earned the win pitching a complete-game scattering 11 hits and striking out four.

Tori Kenney had two hits, while Castera and sophomoreÂ
Ava Goodman each scored twice.
Game Two (L/2-3)
The Cyclones took a 3-0 lead in the second game scoring once in the first inning and twice in the third inning.
SeniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro had an RBI single in the third inning to pull the Bulldogs within two runs and Castera had an RBI triple in the sixth to get DSU within a run, but DeSales was unable to rally in the seventh.
SophomoreÂ
Morgan Benner had two hits in game two. JuniorÂ
Tabitha Lawless took the loss allowing three runs over three innings pitched. SeniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell pitched well in relief, tossing four scoreless innings, striking out one.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they open MAC Freedom play traveling to Delaware Valley University.
