Doylestown, PA (March 16, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team split a MAC Freedom doubleheader dropping game one (4-1) before taking game two (7-1) at Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon.
Game One (L/1-4)
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning on an RBI single from juniorÂ
Tori Kenney but the Aggies tied the score at one in the bottom half of the inning.
Delaware Valley took the 4-1 lead in the third on a three-run home run and the Bulldogs were unable to mount a rally.
JuniorÂ
Rachel Lowry took the loss allowing four runs over six innings, striking out four.
SeniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro had two of the Bulldogs six hits in the game one loss.
Game Two (W/7-1)
Once again each team scored a run in the first inning but this time DSU took a 4-1 lead after a three-RBI double from Ferraro in the top of the second inning.
DSU added two more runs in the fourth on an RBI double from Ferraro and RBI single from Kenney.
SeniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell pitched well earning the win allowing just one run over seven innings, striking out two.
Ferraro finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Kenney was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and sophomoreÂ
Ava Goodman had two hits.
The Bulldogs are back in action in action tomorrow when they host Lehman College in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
