Softball Sweeps Lehman College, 11-0 and 9-1

Center Valley, PA (March 17, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team scored a pair of mercy rule wins sweeping Lehman College, 11-0 and 9-1, in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon at McGettigan Park.

Game One (W/11-0)
DeSales scored four times in each of the first two innings and took advantage of four Lehman College errors to score eight unearned runs in an 11-0 game one win.

Sophomore Morgan Benner was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and first-year Paige Hromin finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs in the first game.

Junior Tabitha Lawless earned the win in the circle pitching four scoreless innings allowing just one hit and striking out six.

Game Two (W/9-1)
DSU fell behind 1-0 in this one after allowing an unearned run in the first inning, but took a 3-1 lead with one run in the first and two runs in the second inning.

Junior Bella Arrigo and senior Kayleigh Ferraro each had RBIs in the two run second inning.

The Bulldogs put the game away in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring six times.

Sophomore Ava Goodman had two hits and two RBIs, sophomore Camryn Coates had two hits, Arrigo finished with two hits and two RBIs, and senior Victoria Agnoli finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Junior Rachel Lowry earned the win pitching four strong innings allowing four hits and striking out seven. Junior Alanna Hartzell earned a save with a scoreless fifth inning, striking out two.

DSU is back in action on Wednesday when they host Kean University in another non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
