Center Valley, PA (March 16, 2024) - The DeSales University baseball team won both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader sweeping Delaware Valley University, 4-1 and 25-20, on Saturday afternoon at Weiland Park.
Game One (W/4-1)

Jared Drake went the distance in this one, scattering five hits over seven innings, striking out 10 leading the Bulldogs past the Aggies in the opener.
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on an RBI single from first-yearÂ
Ty Akins and took the lead for good in the fourth on RBI singles from juniorÂ
Justin DeStaso and first-yearÂ
Jack Sague. JuniorÂ
Patrick Kusters added an RBI double in the sixth inning.

JT Anderosky , DeStaso, and Akins each had two hits to lead the offense in game one.
Game Two (W/25-20)
DSU scored the second most runs in a game in this one as the teams combined for 45 runs, 37 hits, and unfortunately 13 errors.
The Aggies took a 5-0 lead in the first inning before DeSales scored five times in the second inning to claim a 7-5 lead.
It was 8-8 entering the fifth inning when both teams scored six times as the score remained tied at 14.
Delaware Valley crossed the plate five times in the sixth and once more in the top of the seventh to take a 20-14 lead.
DSU cut into the margin with four runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it 20-18 and completed the comeback with a seven-run eighth inning to score the final 11 runs of the game and come back from six runs down entering the bottom of the seventh inning.

Kyle Hart earned the win in this one pitching two hitless innings, striking out two.
Seven different Bulldogs had multiple hits including Anderosky with three hits, four runs scored, and two RBIs. DeStaso was 2-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBIs. SeniorÂ
Zachary Zuchowski was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBIs, seniorÂ
Gavin Zavorski finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs, and Akins was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Kusters had two hits and scored three times and sophomoreÂ
Shane Anhalt finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four RBIs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Swarthmore College for a non-conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
