Women's Lacrosse Sets Points Record in 20-10 Win Over Immaculata

Center Valley, PA (March 16, 2024) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team recorded the most points in a game in team history in a 20-10 win over Immaculata University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.


The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (5-1 overall); Immaculata (5-2 overall)
  • DSU improves to 2-0 all-time vs. the Mighty Macs in the first meeting since the 2019 season.
  • DeSales breaks the record for most points a game with 37, surpassing the previous mark of 36, recording 20 goals and 17 assists.
  • The Bulldogs open the season 5-1 for the first time in team history.
How it Happened
  • After IU scored the first goal of the, DSU scored four straight to take a 4-1 lead with junior Meagan Landers and sophomore Hailey Linebaugh combined for three goals and three assists in the run.
  • The Mighty Macs finished the first quarter with two goals over the last 43 seconds to pull within one goal (4-3) after 15 minutes of play.
  • The Bulldogs answered with the first three goals of the second quarter and dominated the quarter out-scoring Immaculata, 6-1, to take a 10-4 halftime lead.
  • The Mighty Macs scored the first two goals of the second-half to get within four, but the Bulldogs answered with three straight.
  • DeSales put the game away with four straight goals to end the third quarter and start the fourth quarter before the final margin was posted.

  • Seven different players recorded four or more points in this win including sophomore Christina DiGuglielmo with a team-high seven points (5g, 2a).
  • Linebaugh (3g, 3a) and junior Jess Brey (5g, 1a) each had six points and each had three draw controls.
  • Junior Meagan Landers (3g, 2a) and sophomore Bridey Lawler (2g, 3a) each had five points.
  • Senior Hayley Petrosini finished with two goals and two assists along with three draw controls.
  • Sophomore Danielle Sieja totaled four assists and a team-high six draw controls.
  • Junior Michaela Regan finished with 10 saves to become the second player in team history with 300+ career saves.

  • Jacki Murray finished with five goals and one assist for six points.
