Center Valley, PA (March 22, 2024) - The DeSales University baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra innings but Lebanon Valley College scored once in the top of the 10th to take game one of the weekend series, 9-8, in MAC Freedom action at Weiland Park on Friday afternoon.
LVC took a 3-0 lead with runs in each of the first two innings before the Bulldogs scored in each of the next three innings to claim a 6-5 lead in the fifth. SeniorÂ

Patrick Kusters all had RBIs in a three-run fifth to take the lead.
The Flying Dutchmen scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to take an 8-6 lead.
DeSales went in order in the bottom of the eighth but rallied in the bottom of the ninth as seniorÂ
Travis Kerr drew a bases loaded walk to make it 8-7 and seniorÂ
Colin McCunney was hit by a pitch tying the game at eight before a fly out ended the threat.
LVC led off the 10th with a solo home run to take a 9-8 lead. DSU loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom half of the inning but was unable to push home the game tying run this time.

Ashton Johnson suffered the loss allowing one run over two innings, striking out six.
Zavorski finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, seniorÂ
Zachary Zuchowski had two hits and two runs scored, and juniorÂ
Owen Fischl also had two hits and two runs scored.
These two teams will finish up their weekend series on Sunday with game one scheduled to start at Noon.
