Women's Lacrosse Rolls Past Wilkes, 20-5; Petrosini Records 100th Draw Control

Wilkes-Barre, PA (March 27, 2024) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team posted 20 goals in a game for the third time this season rolling past Wilkes University, 20-5, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • After DeSales took a 2-0 lead, Wilkes countered with two straight goals to tie the scored at two mid-way thru the first quarter.
  • The Bulldogs dominated the rest of the half scoring 10 straight goals, including all eight goals in the second quarter, to lead 12-2 at the half.
  • The run continued in the third quarter as DSU scored the first four goals of the second-half and never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Jess Brey led DSU with five goals and two assists, adding nine draw controls, two caused turnovers, and four ground balls.
  • Sophomore Christina DiGuglielmo added three goals and three assists.
  • Senior Hayley Petrosini finished with four goals and had six draw controls, making her the fourth player in team history with 100 career draw controls.
  • Junior Meagan Landers had three goals and one assist along with four draw controls.
  • Sophomore Hailey Linebaugh had two goals and an assist and sophomore Bridey Lawler finished with a goal and an assist.
  • Both junior Michaela Regan and sophomore Nicole Minelli each had three saves in goal.
  • Sophomore Emma Williamson finished with two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

  • Maleah Cobham had four goals to lead the Colonels.
