Brey Breaks Goals Record in 21-4 Win Over Delaware Valley

Doylestown, PA (April 6, 2024) - Junior Jess Brey set a new single-game record with nine goals leading the DeSales University women's lacrosse team to a 21-4 win over Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

  • DSU has won six straight in the all-time series with the Aggies, improving to 6-1 all-time.
  • DeSales moves to within two wins of tying the single-season record of 10.
How it Happened
  • The two teams traded goals to start the game before DSU scored eight straight to open up a 9-1 lead and led 9-2 after one quarter of play.
  • The Bulldogs continued its onslaught out-scoring the Aggies, 5-1 in the second quarter to enjoy a 14-3 lead into the halftime locker room.
  • The Aggies for the first goal of the second-half but DSU finished the game with the last seven goals to provide the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Jess Brey broke the single-game record for goals with nine, surpassing the previous mark of seven, and added two assists for 11 points, the second most points in a game in team history.
  • Brey also had six draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
  • Sophomore Christina DiGuglielmo added four goals and four assists for eight points.
  • Junior Meagan Landers became the fourth player in team history to score 100 career points totaling two goals and an assist and adding seven draw controls.
  • Senior Hayley Petrosini had a goal and two assists to go along with five draw controls, moving her into third place all-time with 105 DC's.
  • Sophomores Danielle Sieja and Bridey Lawler each had two goals and an assist in the win.
  • Junior Michaela Regan and sophomore Nicole Minelli each had five saves and allowed just four goals in between the pipes.
For the Foes
  • Susan Rawding and Ashley Birmingham each scored twice.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales out-shot DVU, 38-20, and had a 35-25 edge in ground balls.
