Center Valley, PA (March 28, 2024) - The DeSales University baseball brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of eighth and ninth innings but were unable to complete the comeback dropping the series opener to Arcadia University, 10-8, in MAC Freedom action on Thursday evening.
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on sacrifice fly from juniorÂ
Justin DeStaso.
Arcadia scored twice in the fourth inning to take the lead and added five more runs in the sixth to lead 7-1.
It was a 10-2 game entering the bottom of the seventh inning when seniorÂ
Zachary Zuchowski singled home sophomoreÂ
JT Anderosky in the seventh.
The Bulldogs took advantage of five walks in the bottom of the eighth inning scoring four runs with Zuchowski knocking in two more runs with a single.

Colin McCunney doubled to score first-yearÂ
Ty Akins bringing the tying run to the plate before the comeback was stalled on a fly out.

Travis Kerr had three hits, Akins scored three runs, Zuchowski had two hits and three RBIs, and seniorÂ
Gavin Zavorski also had two hits in the loss.
These two teams will finish up their weekend series on Saturday at Arcadia with first pitch set for Noon.
