Baseball Drops Two at Arcadia

Ambler, PA (March 30, 2024) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader at Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon, 14-4 and 16-6.

Game One (L/4-14)
Trailing 2-0 into the third inning, DSU scored four times on a two-RBI single from senior Colin McCunney and two-RBI triple from sophomore Bobby Dingell to take a 4-2 lead.

The Knights wasted no time regaining control scoring six runs in the bottom of the third and five more times in the fourth to take a 13-4 lead and never looked back from there.

Seven different players had hits in the game one loss.  Senior Jared Drake took the loss on the hill.

Game Two (L/6-16)
DSU led 2-0 after scoring twice in the top of the first inning of this one on RBI singles from senior Zachary Zuchowski and first-year Ty Akins each had RBI singles in the first.

Arcadia tied the game in the bottom of the first and took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning.  The Knights piled on with six runs in the third and three more in the fourth to lead 14-3 before posting the final tally.

Sophomore JT Anderosky and Akins each had three hits in the loss.  Zuchowski added two hits and two RBIs.

Sophomore Mike Hooker took the loss allowing five earned over two innings.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they host William Paterson University in a non-conference game beginning at 5:00 pm.
