Rachel Turoscy earned her 400th win with the DeSales University softball team as the Bulldogs extended their win streak to six straight sweeping a non-conference doubleheader at Neumann University on Wednesday afternoon.
Turoscy now has 401 wins at DeSales and is 401-391 (.506) in her 22 years in a Bulldogs dugout. Turoscy has 418 career wins at the collegiate level, including 17 wins in her four years at Cedar Crest College.
Game One (W/4-1)
A scoreless game in the fourth inning saw the Bulldogs score four times to take a 4-0 lead that included RBI singles from first-year
Kiara Castera and sophomore
Ava Goodman.
Junior
Rachel Lowry did the rest allowing just one run over seven innings, striking out two. She earns her 10th win of the season.
Senior
Kayleigh Ferraro had two hits to lead the offensive attack.
Game Two (W/5-2)
DSU took a 1-0 lead in the first inning after an RBI single from Castera.
The Bulldogs broke it open with four runs in the third inning including RBI singles from Ferraro and first-year
Paige Hromin as well as a two-RBI single from sophomore
Melissa Hickey.
Junior
Alanna Hartzell earned the win going four innings allowing two runs, striking out four. Junior
Tabitha Lawless got the save with three no-hit innings.
Sophomore
Morgan Benner, Ferraro, junior
Tori Kenney, and Hromin all had two hits in game two.
DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they host Stevens in a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
