Elizabethtown, PA (April 15, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team saw its eight-game win streak snapped in a game one loss before rebounding to win game two, splitting a non-conference doubleheader at Elizabethtown College on Monday afternoon.
Game One (L/0-8)
The Blue Jays scored four runs in the first inning and added runs in the third, fifth, and sixth innings to take game one.
The Bulldogs had just five hits led by sophomoreÂ
Morgan Benner with two of the five base knocks.
JuniorÂ
Tabitha Lawless took the loss in the circle allowing four unearned runs over two innings pitched.
Game Two (W/5-0)
JuniorÂ
Rachel Lowry recorded her third shutout of the season. She allowed just two hits and struck out seven over seven innings. Lowry allowed just four runners to reach second base and one to reach third in the win.
DSU broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the fourth inning. JuniorÂ
Tori Kenney had an RBI double and juniorÂ
Madison Kelly also had an RBI single.
Benner had two more hits, Kenney had two hits, first-yearÂ
Paige Hromin scored twice, and Kelly had two RBIs in the game two win.
DSU is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Misericordia University for a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
