Annville, PA (May 3, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 12-4 win over FDU-Florham in game five of the MAC Freedom postseason tournament on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs (28-13) advance to the MAC Freedom Championship game and will take on top seed and tournament host Lebanon Valley College needing to beat the Flying Dutchmen twice on Saturday to take home the conference title.
After a scoreless top of the first inning, DeSales put the game away early scoring eight times in the bottom of the first inning. JuniorÂ
Tori Kenney had a two-run double, first-yearÂ
Paige Hromin hit a three-run home run, seniorÂ
Victoria Agnoli had an RBI single, and seniorÂ
Kayleigh Ferraro had a two-RBI single in the first inning.
After the Devils cut the margin in half with a run in the second inning and three runs in the third inning, DSU scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single from first-year
Kiara Castera and two-RBI single from first-yearÂ
Meghan Sabo. Ferraro added an RBI single in the fourth to provide the final score.

Rachel Lowry tied the single-season record with her 17th win of the year in the circle allowing four runs over five innings.
SophomoreÂ
Morgan Benner scored three times, Ferraro stayed hot at the plate going 4-for-4 with three RBIs, making her 7-for-7 on the day, and Kenney was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Hromin scored twice and had three RBIs and Castera was 2-for-2.
First pitch is set for 10:00 am tomorrow morning.
