Annville, PA (May 3, 2024) - The DeSales University softball team fell 5-1 to top seeded Lebanon Valley College in the winner's bracket game on Friday morning.
The Bulldogs (27-13) fall into the loser's bracket now and will face the winner of the FDU-Florham/Misericordia University game which got started at 2:00 pm. The winner of that 2 PM game will face the Bulldogs at 4:00 pm with the winner staying alive and advancing to Saturday to face Lebanon Valley College in the championship game needing to beat the Flying Dutchmen twice in the double elimination tournament.
Lebanon Valley took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on three hits and one Bulldog error.
DSU got one run back in the top of the second inning on a two-out RBI double from seniorÂ

The Flying Dutchmen made it a 5-1 game in the bottom of the second inning on three more hits.
DeSales threatened to cut into the lead in the top of the fourth inning putting runners on second and third with no one out but a base running error led to a triple play on the next batter spoiling the threat.

Rachel Lowry started and took the loss allowing five runs over two innings. SeniorÂ
Alanna Hartzell pitched well in relief tossing four hitless innings.
Ferraro finished the game 3-for-3 to account for half of the Bulldogs six hits.
