Center Valley, PA (August 31, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team split its two matches on day two of the DeSales University Invitational including a hard fought 3-2 win over Rutgers-Camden before a 3-1 loss to Stevenson University in the second match.
Match #1 (W/3-2 - 20-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-17, 15-11)
After losing two closely contested sets to fall down 2-0, DeSales rallied to win the third set 25-23. The Bulldogs then cruised to a 25-17 win in set number four and used a quick start in the fifth and deciding set to finish off a five set come from behind win in the first match of the day.

Joy Kindall led the way with 17 kills, hitting .282 and first-yearÂ
Allison Reimer had 15 kills and 16 digs, while hitting .216. Fellow first-yearÂ
Jocelyn Castro had seven kills and eight blocks.
First-yearÂ
Kylie Campbell finished with 19 digs, first-yearÂ
Veda Doxzen added 30 assists and 13 digs.
Match #2 (L/1-3 - 25-17, 9-25, 12-25, 18-25)
DSU cruised out to an early lead, fought off a rally in the middle of the set, and finished strong for a 1-0 lead. Stevenson had the answer however, hitting .462 in the second set, forcing DSU into a negative hitting percentage in the third set, and hitting .268 in the fourth set to sweep sets two thru four for the win.
Reimer added 10 kills, nine digs, and three blocks in the win. First-yearÂ
Brooke Signorella had nine kills, and Kindall added eight kills.
Campbell had eight digs and Doxzen totaled 17 assists.
DSU is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Cedar Crest College for a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
