Allentown, PA (September 4, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team fought back from a first set deficit to take down Cedar Crest College, 3-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.
After dropping the first set, 25-22, DSU dominated the second set, 25-16, to even the match at one. The Bulldogs were in danger of going down 2-1, trailing 22-16, in the third set but fought back to tie the score at 23. DeSales then staved off set points at 24-23 and 26-25 before scoring three straight points including a kill from first-yearÂ
Allison Reimer to win 28-26.
The Bulldogs found themselves again trailing, 15-11, in the fourth set before scoring six of the next seven points to take a 17-16 lead. DSU then closed out the match with the final two points tied at 23 including another game-winning kill from Reimer.
It was DSU's 25th straight win over Cedar Crest College to improve to 25-0 all-time in the series and even its season record at 2-2.
Reimer finished with a team-high 11 kills and added 17 digs and four blocks. Fellow first-yearÂ
Brooke Signorella added 10 kills and two blocks. SeniorÂ
Samantha Worontzoff had nine kills and five blocks in the win and juniorÂ
Joy Kindall added eight kills.

Veda Doxzen finished with 39 assists and 12 digs and fellow first-yarÂ
Kylie Campbell had 34 digs, fourth most in a 4-set match in team history, and three aces.
DSU is back in action on Saturday when they take on Elizabethtown College and York College.
