Volleyball Takes Down Cedar Crest, 3-1

Allentown, PA (September 4, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball team fought back from a first set deficit to take down Cedar Crest College, 3-1, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening.

After dropping the first set, 25-22, DSU dominated the second set, 25-16, to even the match at one.  The Bulldogs were in danger of going down 2-1, trailing 22-16, in the third set but fought back to tie the score at 23.  DeSales then staved off set points at 24-23 and 26-25 before scoring three straight points including a kill from first-year Allison Reimer to win 28-26.

The Bulldogs found themselves again trailing, 15-11, in the fourth set before scoring six of the next seven points to take a 17-16 lead.  DSU then closed out the match with the final two points tied at 23 including another game-winning kill from Reimer.

It was DSU's 25th straight win over Cedar Crest College to improve to 25-0 all-time in the series and even its season record at 2-2.

Reimer finished with a team-high 11 kills and added 17 digs and four blocks.  Fellow first-year Brooke Signorella added 10 kills and two blocks.  Senior Samantha Worontzoff had nine kills and five blocks in the win and junior Joy Kindall added eight kills.

First-year Veda Doxzen finished with 39 assists and 12 digs and fellow first-yar Kylie Campbell had 34 digs, fourth most in a 4-set match in team history, and three aces.
