Elizabethtown, PA (September 7, 2024) - The DeSales University volleyball dropped two hard fought tight matches in a tri-match with Elizabethtown College and York College (PA) on Saturday afternoon.
Match #1 (L/2-3 vs. Elizabethtown)
The first four sets were split sending the match to a fifth set. Down 8-5 in the fifth set, DeSales scored four of the next five points to tie the score at nine. The Blue Jays responded with four straight to take a 13-9 lead and the Bulldogs were unable to recover to drop the match.

Allison Reimer each had 13 kills to lead the Bulldog attack. SeniorÂ
Paige Lewis had five blocks, first-yearÂ
Kylie Campbell finished with 18 digs, and first-year
Veda Doxzen totaled 36 assists and 13 digs. Reimer also had a double-double with 14 digs.
Match #2 (L/1-3 vs. York)
DeSales cruised to a first set win (25-19) before dropping a tight second set, 25-23. York dominated the third set (25-12) and closed out the match with a 31-29 win in the fourth set. DSU had set points four times in the fourth set but were unable to get the game clinching point as York escaped with the win.
Reimer had another strong performance with 19 kills, hitting .326 for the match. JuniorÂ
Joy Kindall added 10 kills and hit .500 adding three blocks. Lewis had seven kills and hit .467 and added three blocks.
Campbell finished with 18 digs, while Doxzen and sophomoreÂ
Bryanna Purisima combined for 38 assists and 19 digs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Moravian University for another non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
