Center Valley, PA (September 14, 2024) - The DeSales University field hockey dropped its third straight game falling to Hartwick Collge, 3-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: Hartwick - 3, DeSales - 0
• Records: DeSales (1-3 overall), Hartwick (1-3 overall)
• The Bulldogs fall to 0-2 all-time vs. the Hawks. 

How it Happened

• The first-half was fairly evenly matched for the exception of two penalty strokes that resulted in two goals scored by Ashley Tricarico to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead heading into the break. 
• Hartwick added one more goal in the fourth quarter to make it a three goal game.
• DSU's best chance of getting on the board came with about five minutes left to play on a penalty stroke but the Hawks keeper made the save to preserve the shutout win. 

Top Bulldog Performers

• Junior Jordyne Stong led the Bulldogs with three shots on goal.
• Sophomore Alyssa Schlossman made four saves in the cage.

For the Foes

• Tricarico had led the Hawks with two goals scored.
• Dani Hand had the other Hartwick goal.
• Caroline Aspuru tallied an assist. 
• Ava Reynolds was perfect in goal making eight saves and recording the win. 

Inside the Box Score

• Shots were nearly identical as Hartwick had a slim 15-14 advantage, while DSU had the 8-7 edge on shots on goal.
• DSU had the upper hand in penalty corners, 17-2.
