Field Hockey Drops Fifth Straight, 4-1 to Dickinson

Center Valley, PA (September 21, 2024) - The DeSales University field hockey team dropped its fifth straight game, falling 4-1 to Dickinson College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Dickinson - 4, DeSales - 1
  • Records: DeSales (1-5 overall), Dickinson (3-4 overall)
  • This marked the first all-time meeting between the two teams.
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs struck first in this one just five minutes into the game when junior Nikki Chiaradia found junior Jordyne Stong on a pass inside in the circle to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead thru one period of play. 
  • Dickinson got the equalizing goal in the second period when Natalie Slusser one timed a shot on a ball that was initially saved by the keeper.
  • The second half was all the Red Devils as they scored three times and held the Bulldogs scoreless to take home the 4-1 victory despite numerous offensive chances by the Bulldogs. 
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Stong scored her second goal of the season.
  • Chiaradia tallied her first assist of the year.
  • Sophomore Alyssa Schlossman was exceptional in goal for the Bulldogs as she totaled 20 saves, which is third most all-time in a game in team history. 
For the Foes
  • Nicole Uebele led Dickinson with two goals. 
  • Slusser and Alexandra Hockwitt each scored a goal.
  • Calyn Clements tallied an assist.
Inside the Box Score
  • Dickinson enjoyed a 30-13 advantage in shots, 24-4 in shots on goal.
  • There were tons of penalty corners in the game as Dickinson had 10 and DeSales nine.
