Center Valley, PA (September 28, 2024) - The DeSales University men's soccer team earned its seventh win of the season with a 3-1 win over Hood College on Homecoming Saturday afternoon

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 3, Hood - 1
• Records: DeSales (7-2); Hood (3-5-1)
• This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

How it Happened

• DSU took a 1-0 lead in the first-half into halftime as junior Liam MacDonald scored off an assist from first-year David Kroon in the 29th minute.
• Senior Sean Bruce earned a PK in the box in the 67th minute of the second-half and junior Joseph Reteneller cashed the PK in to make it a 2-0 game.
• Junior Bryan Flor made it a 3-0 game scoring on his own rebounded shot in the 86th minute.
• The Bulldogs were just 21 seconds away from earning a shutout before a late foul gave Hood a free kick deep in their own offensive half of the field resulting in a loose ball goal in the box.

• MacDonald scored his eighth goal of the year in the win.
• First-year Jimmy Shensky made two saves in the goal.

For the Foes

• Devin Ledman scored Hood's goal.
• Nick Humphries had nine saves for the Blazers.

• The Bulldogs dominated possession and had a 25-7 advantage in shots, 14-3 in shots on goal.
• DSU also had a decisive 12-0 edge in corner kicks for the game.
