Madison, NJ (September 28, 2024) - The DeSales University University volleyball team split its two matches on Saturday at Drew University with a 3-0 win over host Drew before falling to Union College, 3-0, in the second match of the day.

Match #1 (W/3-0 vs. Drew)
The Bulldogs got off to a good start on Saturday taking down host Drew in straight sets, 25-22, 25-20, and 26-24.

Senior Samantha Worontzoff with eight kills, hitting .389, and adding three blocks.  First-year Allison Reimer also had eight kills and added seven digs.

First-year Veda Doxzen had 15 assists and sophomore Bryanna Purisima had 11 assists.  First-year Kylie Campbell and fellow first-year Brooke Signorella each finished with 11 digs.

Match #2 (L/0-3 vs. Union)
DeSales dropped the first set, 25-11, narrowly lost the second set, 25-21, before falling in straight sets, 25-11, in the third.

Senior Paige Lewis led the way with a team-high seven kills, hitting .227 and adding two blocks.  Fellow senior Samantha Worontzoff added five kills and three blocks.  First-year Brooke Signorella had six kills.

First-year Kylie Campbell finished with 14 digs, and first-year Veda Doxzen totaled 17 assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Miseriordia University for a MAC Freedom match beginning at 7:00 pm.
