Center Valley, PA (September 7, 2024) – Five different Bulldogs score as the DeSales University men's soccer team rolls past Bryn Athyn, 6-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: DeSales - 6, Bryn Athyn - 0
• Records: DeSales (2-1); Bryn Athyn (1-2)
• DSU improves to 5-0 all-time vs. the Lions.

How it Happened

• DSU got on the board just 4:04 into the game on a goal by senior Elek McDonald.
• Less than two minutes later the Bulldogs added some insurance on a header by junior Liam MacDonald off a corner entry by first-year student Peter Cardinale, to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead which will held into the break.
• The Bulldogs added four more goals in the second-half and never looked back from there to earn the shutout win.

Top Bulldog Performers

• MacDonald led the Bulldogs with two goals, giving him four goals on the season.
• McDonald scored his second goal of the year and tallied his first assist.
• Larry Sullivan, Joseph Reteneller, and Ryan Tavener each scored their first goals of the season.
• Tristen Castellani also tallied his first assist of the year.
• First-year students Jimmy Shensky and Ryan Foley combined to record the shutout. 

For the Foes

• Troy Billingslea had four saves and Brett Cloud had two saves for Bryn Athyn. 

Inside the Box Score

• DeSales dominated the game out-shooting the Lions, 31-0, for the game.
• DSU also had a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.
