Donmoyer/LaVerghetta Carry Women's Basketball Past Delaware Valley, 70-53

Center Valley, PA (January 25, 2025) - Junior Mikaili Donmoyer scored a game-high 21 points and first-year Marissa LaVerghetta was two points shy of a double-double leading the DeSales University women's basketball team past Delaware Valley University, 70-53, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • DeSales opened up an 11-3 lead early after a 9-0 run midway thru the first quarter with five different players scoring during the run.
  • The lead grew to as many as 16 points later in the second quarter before the Bulldogs led 35-23 at the break after the Aggies finished the half scoring four straight points.
  • DSU scored the first eight points of the third quarter to take a 43-23 lead and continued to lead by 14 after three quarters of play.
  • The Aggies scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to cut the margin down to just nine, but five straight points from Donmoyer pushed the lead back to 14 with 3:18 left to play and DeSales never looked back from there.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Donmoyer's 21 tallies tied her career-high as she added seven rebounds in the win.
  • LaVerghetta finished with eight points, a career-high 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three blocked shots.
  • Junior Lindsay Bednarek also reached double figures with 10 points and added four steals.
  • First-year Kayla Ishigami tallied eight points and four assists off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Aubrey Ennis led the Aggies with 20 points, hitting four 3's.
  • Haley Keenan had a double-double with 10 points and 12 boards.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales shot 40 percent from the field and held the Aggies to just 32.8 percent from the floor.
