Thomas Nets Season-High in 86-68 Loss at TCNJ

Ewing Township, NJ (January 4, 2025) - First-year Jayden Thomas scored a season-high 29 points but the DeSales University men's basketball team dropped an 86-68 decision at The College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (6-5 Overall); TCNJ (9-3 Overall)
  • This was the fifth career meeting between the two teams as TCNJ takes a 3-2 lead in the all-time series between the two.
How it Happened
  • After TCNJ scored the first five points of the game, the Bulldogs used a quick 8-2 run to take an 8-7 lead on the third of three straight buckets from Thomas.
  • The Lions pushed the lead up to seven points quickly responded after the DSU run and led throughout the rest of the half and by eight (43-35) at the break.
  • A Thomas three-ball followed by a triple from junior Brendan Boyle quickly made it a two-point game at the start of the second-half.
  • The Lions took control from there using a 23-0 run over the next four minutes to take a commanding 66-41 lead and never looked back from that point.

  • Thomas shot 11-for-14 from the floor to post his season-high 29 points.
  • Junior Ryan Glassmacher was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and had 11 points in the loss.
For the Foes
  • Nick Koch finished with a team-high 27 points for TCNJ.
  • Jonathan Okocha and David Alexandre each had 14 points and Matthew Okorie totaled 13 points.
