Glenside, PA (January 8, 2025) - The DeSales University men's basketball team dropped its MAC Freedom opener, 83-67, at Arcadia University on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for the Bulldogs in the series with Arcadia as DSU drops to 21-11 all-time vs. the Knights.

How it Happened

• A three-pointer from Jayden Thomas five minutes into the game gave DeSales an 11-7 lead.
• The Bulldogs went scoreless over the next 3:25 and the Knights used a 12-0 run to take a 19-11 lead.
• The lead grew to as many as 11 points with 5:52 to go in the first-half before DeSales finished the half on a 13-4 run to pull within two points (36-34) at the halftime break.
• It was still a two-point game two minutes into the second-half when Arcadia used a 14-2 run to take a 55-41 lead with 14:45 remaining.
• The Bulldogs cut the margin down to seven (67-60) with 6:43 to go but the Knights responded with 12 straight points to pull away for the win.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Seniors Caleb Gibbs and Devin Atkinson each scored 16 points to lead the way.
• Thomas added 15 points and senior Matt Ciszkowski had 10 points.

For the Foes

• Dom Vazquez finished with a game-high 20 points.
• Joshua Okocha added 17 points and Amyr Walker had 15 points.
• Corey Attivo also reached double figures with 13 points.

Inside the Box Score

• Both teams shot well with DeSales hitting 53.2 percent from the field and Arcadia canning 55.6 percent.
