CENTER VALLEY, Pa (Oct. 1, 2025)-- The DeSales University women's soccer team fell, 2-1, in a competitive match versus Washington College (Md.) on Wednesday afternoon.  

How it Happened  

• Washington College (Md.) started the game strong with a goal from Kaileigh Brady, in the first 20 seconds of the game.  

• DeSales responded immediately with a goal from Sammy Fanger, assisted by Hailie Murphy in the second minute of the game.  

• For the rest of the half, both teams remained strong on both sides of the ball, with each team having multiple shots on goal denied.  

• During the middle of the second half, Ava Lorentz was able to sneak the ball into the upper right corner of the net for Washington College.  

• The Bulldogs had a strong defensive press to end the game but were unable to get one in to tie it up.  

Top Bulldog Performers  

• Senior, Fanger was able to tap in a goal for the bulldogs, seconds after Washington College scored their first. Fanger was assisted by first year, Murphy after some commotion in front of the net.  

• Junior Avery Lane had great shots on goal but could not make it into the back of the net.  

• Goalkeeper, Campbell Pacheco had six saves on the game.  

For the Foes 

• Brady had the first goal for the Shorewomen, scoring unassisted right after kick off.  

• The second goal was taken by Lorentz in the second period.  

Inside the Box Score  

• DeSales had the slim majority on shots in the first period, taking a 7/6 advantage.  

• The Bulldogs ended the game with a larger majority of saves, taking a 6/4 advantage over the Shorewomen.
