Furious Comeback Falls Short in 3-2 Loss at Misericordia

Dallas, PA (October 18, 2025) - The DeSales University men's soccer team scored two goals in the last eight minutes of the game nearly erasing a three goal deficit in a 3-2 loss at Misericordia University in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon.

  • The loss moves the Bulldogs to 7-16-5 all-time vs. the Cougars.
How it Happened
  • The first-half saw just seven total shots and a scoreless game into the locker rooms.
  • The Cougars needed just 3:48 to break the scoreless tie, taking a 1-0 lead.
  • MU added insurance goals within 1:31 of each other in the 77th and 78th minute.
  • Senior Liam MacDonald got DSU on the board heading home a free kick with just under eight minutes left.
  • MacDonald struck again with 2:01 left again heading home a long pass into the box to make it a one goal game.
  • The Bulldogs were unable to get the tying marker late.

  • MacDonald scored his 9th and 10th goals of the season, giving him 32 for his career to move into a tie for 10th place all-time.
  • Seniors Joseph Reteneller and Jason Trivisonno each registered assists on the goals.
  • Sophomore Jimmy Shensky had two saves in the loss.

  • Corbin Lankford, Nicholas Passaniti, and Kohen Stiles scored the goals for the Cougars.
  • Santino Jannotte made three saves for the Cougars.
