Negron Completes Second-Half Comeback in 4-3 Win over Marywood

Scranton, PA (October 4, 2025) - Junior Aliyah Negron scored with just under eight minutes left completing a three-goal second-half comeback leading the DeSales University field hockey team past Marywood University, 4-3, on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
  • This game was a tail of two halves.
  • Marywood dominated the first-half, scoring three goals and out-shooting the Bulldogs 16-2 in the first-half.
  • DSU completely changed the flow of the game in the second-half out-shooting the Pacers, 17-2 in the second-half.
  • The Bulldogs got its first goal 10:42 into the third quarter when sophomore Sierra Margut scored unassisted.
  • Senior Brynn Balliet made it a one goal game with 1:52 left in the third quarter on a goal off an assist from sophomore Stephanie Pallente.
  • DSU tied the game 3:29 into the fourth quarter when senior Brooke Sodl scored unassisted.
  • Negron then got the game-winner with 7:52 left firing home a centering pass from Balliet completing the comeback.

  • Balliet tallied her fifth goal of the season and now has 13 points on the year after also recording an assist.
  • Negron's game-winner was her first goal of the year.
  • Sodl scored her second and Margut her first of the year.
  • First-year Lily Trocki was great in goal in the second-half making two saves and pitching a second-half shutout.
