Four Score in Double Digits as Men's Basketball Rolls past Hunter in Home Opener

Center Valley, PA (November 15, 2025) - Four players scored in double digits leading the DeSales University men's basketball team past Hunter College, 68-44, in the 2025-26 season home opener on Saturday afternoon in Billera Hall.

The Basics
  • Final Score: DeSales - 68, Hunter - 44
  • Records: DeSales (2-1 Overall); Hunter (0-3 Overall)
  • This was the first meeting between the two teams since the 1986-87 season as the Bulldogs improve to 2-1 all-time in the all-time series.
How it Happened
  • Both teams got off to a slow start combining for just four points over the first 4:26 of the game with the game tied at two.
  • A three from senior Brendan Boyle started a 16-2 run for DeSales over the next 5:29 as the Bulldogs took an 18-4 lead midway thru the first-half that included back-to-back 3's from sophomore Luke Keppel.
  • The rest of the half was back and forth as Hunter was able to cut into the lead and trailed by just 10 at the break (28-18).
  • Leading by 11 early in the second-half DeSales put this one away with an 10-0 run to take a 21 point lead (43-22).
  • Senior Will Meeker ignited the run with back-to-back 3's during the spurt as the Bulldogs never looked back after that.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Sophomore Jayden Thomas led all scorers with 15 points, adding five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
  • Keppel finished with 11 points, hitting 3-for-6 from deep.
  • Sophomore Emanuel Domingo also had 11 points and pulled down seven boards.
  • Meeker finished with 10 points off the bench.
For the Foes
  • Sloan Ireland led Hunter with a double-double totaling 15 points and 12 rebounds.
  • John Paul Maaba added 10 points and five assists.
Inside the Box Score
  • DeSales dominated the paint out-scoring Hunter, 38-18.
  • The Bulldogs shot 44.3 percent from the field and held HC to just 31.5 percent for the game.
