Center Valley, PA (November 19, 2025) - The DeSales University women's basketball team came up short in a defensive battle on Wednesday evening falling to Rowan University, 43-38, in non-conference action in Billera Hall.

How it Happened
- This game saw nine lead changes and four ties and neither team led by more than eight points at any point during the game.
- A sluggish first quarter saw the Bulldogs holding an 8-7 lead after a driving layup from junior Lillirose Lang as time expired on the quarter.
- A three from Lang to start the the second quarter was followed by a layup from senior Sammi White as DSU took a 13-9 lead midway thru the second stanza.
- Rowan scored nine straight points to take an 18-13 lead but the Bulldogs finished the half with four straight to trail by one point at the break (18-17).
- The Profs took their largest lead of the game at the 5:05 mark of the third quarter (30-22) but DSU answered with a 10-0 run to take a 32-30 lead with 1:08 left in the quarter as four different players scored led by four points from sophomore Aubrey Pollard.
- After trading baskets the game was tied at 36 with 4:46 left.
- Both teams went scoreless for 2:10 before Rowan broke the tie with a bucket.
- DSU got a good look on a 3 with 1:32 remaining that fell short and the Profs hit two freebies with 32 seconds left and iced the game from the free throw line down the stretch.
Top Bulldog Performers
- No Bulldog reached double digits as senior Lindsay Bednarek had a team-high nine points.
- Lang had seven off the bench and sophomore Marissa LaVerghetta did a little of everything with six points, nine rebounds, two assists, and six steals.
For the Foes
- Megan Donelson led all scorers with 11 points and Jes Mastriano added 10 points.
- Charlotta Carlies pulled down 11 rebounds and had six blocks.
Inside the Box Score
- DeSales forced 19 turnovers but scored just six points off those miscues.
- Rowan blocked 10 shots in the game.

- DeSales is back in action on Saturday when they travel crosstown to take on local rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 5:00 pm.
