Defense Leads Women's Basketball to 66-46 Win at Moravian

Bethlehem, PA (November 24, 2025) - The DeSales University women's basketball team forced 26 turnovers, scoring 27 points off those turnovers in a 66-46 win at Moravian University in non-conference action on Monday evening.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (4-2 Overall); Moravian (2-3 Overall)
  • The Bulldogs have won seven straight in the series with the two teams and improve to 30-20 in the all-time series with the Greyhounds.
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs took an early 6-1 lead on two layups from senior Lindsay Bednarek and a lay-up off the tip from sophomore Marissa LaVerghetta.
  • The lead swelled to nine points at the first quarter buzzer on a short jumper from sophomore Aubrey Pollard.
  • Pollard scored the first bucket of the second quarter and the lead never fell below double digits with the Bulldogs holding a 35-23 advantage at the break.
  • The second-half was more of the same as DeSales never trailed in this game and took its largest lead of the game (64-40) after a 10-0 run when Moravian pulled to within 14 early in the fourth quarter.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Bednarek led the way with 20 points, adding five assists and four steals.
  • Sophomore Kayla Ishigami came off the bench to score 14 points, going 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
  • Senior Mikaili Donmoyer had eight points.
  • Senior Sammi White pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds and blocked three shots.
  • LaVerghetta continued to stuff the stat sheet with seven points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks.
For the Foes
  • Lizzie Lustig led Moravian with 11 points.
  • Grace Steffen had nine points and 10 rebounds.
