Women's Basketball Falls to Messiah, 58-45

Center Valley, PA (December 6, 2025) - The DeSales University women's basketball team suffered a 58-45 loss to Messiah University in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon snapping DSU's two-game win streak.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Messiah - 58, DeSales - 45
  • Records: DeSales (4-3 Overall); Messiah (5-2 Overall)
  • Messiah takes a 12-10 lead in the all-time series between the two teams.
How it Happened
  • The Bulldogs scored the first five points of the game and continued to lead by five (9-4) before Messiah ended the first quarter on a 9-2 run to take a 14-11 lead.
  • It was a one-point game midway thru the second quarter when the Falcons used an 8-0 run to take a nine-point lead and that lead continued into the halftime locker room.
  • Trailing by 11 points early in the third quarter, the Bulldogs used a 16-6 run to get within a point (35-34) at the 4:40 mark of the third quarter.
  • It was a two-point game with 1:23 left in the quarter before Messiah scored the final four points to take a 44-38 lead after three quarters of play.
  • The Falcons pushed the margin up to 10 points early in the fourth quarter before sophomore Aubrey Pollard scored four of five points over the next four minutes to trim the margin down to five (48-43).
  • Messiah had the answer scoring the next 10 points to take a 15-point lead before posting the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Pollard led the Bulldogs with 16 points, adding five rebounds.
  • Senior Mikaili Donmoyer also reached double digits with 12 points, while also pulling down eight boards.
For the Foes
  • Liv Monturo recorded a double-double with 25 points and 16 rebounds.
  • Hope Cook had 15 points.
Inside the Box Score
  • Messiah out-shot DeSales, 36-8 percent to 31.3 percent.
  • Both teams took excellent care of the ball accounting for just 22 total turnovers in the game.
  • The Falcons had a 45-38 advantage on the glass.
