Balanced Attack Leads Women's Basketball past Delaware Valley, 71-48

Doylestown, PA (February 22, 2025) - Five different players scored in double digits leading the DeSales University women's basketball team past Delaware Valley University, 71-48, in the MAC Freedom regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

  • Records: DeSales (15-10, 8-6 MAC Freedom); Delaware Valley (3-22, 1-13 MAC Freedom)
  • DeSales extends its win streak over the Aggies to 19 straight and are now 63-15 all-time vs. Delaware Valley.
  • The Bulldogs finish the regular season as the #4 seed in the upcoming MAC Freedom postseason tournament and will be traveling to Lebanon Valley College for the semifinals on Wednesday.
How it Happened
  • A back-and-forth first quarter saw the Bulldogs take a four-point lead on a three from first-year Kayla Ishigami at the end of the quarter.
  • It was a six point game with 4:27 left in the half when DeSales took control, finishing the half on a 12-0 run to take a 39-21 lead.
  • Delaware Valley got to within 14 points early in the fourth quarter but the Bulldogs pushed the lead back up to as many as 26 points twice before posting the final tally.
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Junior Mikaili Donmoyer finished with a team-high 17 points, hitting five 3's.
  • Senior Morgan Sterner had 15 points and added six rebounds.
  • Junior Sammi White had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
  • Junior Lindsay Bednarek totaled 14 points and Ishigami had 10 points off the bench.
  • First-year Marissa LaVerghetta totaled 10 rebounds and five assists.
For the Foes
  • Haley Keenan finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Aggies.
  • Aubrey Ennis added 12 points.
  • Alexis Wright also had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

  • DeSales shot 41.8 percent from the field and held Delaware Valley to just 24.6 percent shooting.
