Jacksonville, FL (March 12, 2025) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team dropped its first game of its spring break trip in Florida, 10-8, to Sewanee on Wednesday afternoon.

The Basics

• Final Score: Sewanee - 10, DeSales - 8
• Records: DeSales (0-6 overall); Sewanee (4-3 overall)
• This was the first meeting between the two teams.

How it Happened

• Sewanee started quickly in this one opening up a 3-1 lead thru the first quarter.
• DeSales scored the only three goals of the second quarter to take a 4-3 lead into the halftime locker room.
• Junior Jake Hurd and senior Nate Perry scored to open the third quarter giving DSU a 6-3 lead and the Bulldogs led 8-4 at the 8:52 mark of the third quarter.
• Sewanee scored the final three goals of the third quarter to close within a goal (8-7).
• Sewanee then dominated the fourth quarter scoring the only three goals of the quarter to earn the 10-8 come from behind win.

Top Bulldog Performers

• Perry led the scoring attack with four goals and three assists.
• Hurd added four goals and senior Pat Schuett had two assists.
• Senior Anthony Gash won 8-of-17 faceoffs.
• Senior Hunter Waldron totaled 15 saves in between the pipes.

For the Foes

• Devon Root, Manoli Loupassi, and Will Kennedy each had two goals to lead Sewanee.
• Kennedy added two assists and Charles Moran finished with one goal and two assists.

Inside the Box Score

• Sewanee out-shot DeSales, 47-30, and had a 35-23 advantage in ground balls.
• Each team won 10 faceoffs.
