Center Valley, PA (March 24, 2025) - The DeSales University baseball team rolled past Rosemont College in a 11-1 win on Monday afternoon at Weiland Park.
This marked the first ever meeting between the two programs.Â
DSU got on the board first in the second inning on an error by the Raven first baseman that resulted in junior
John Rorick to come across and score.Â
Sophomore
Ty Akins added on for the Bulldogs in the third inning with a two-RBI single to right field to push the lead up to 3-0.Â
DeSales broke this game open in the sixth inning scoring four more runs that was led by RBI singles from Rorick and first-year
Eddie Cwiertniewicz to give DSU a 7-0 lead after six innings.Â
DSU provided the final tally in the bottom of the seventh inning after scoring another four runs to win via 10-run mercy rule.
First-year
Joe Ficoturo got the win pitching two scoreless innings in a bullpen game.Â
Cwiertniewicz finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs and one run scored, Akins went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and one run scored, and junior
Owen Frye had a hit in his only plate appearance and tallied two RBIs.Â
DSU are back in action on Wednesday when they host Centenary University for another non-conference game with first pitch set for 3:30pm.Â
