Center Valley, PA (March 26, 2025) - The DeSales University baseball team won its third straight game taking down Centenary University (NJ) in a 10-2 feat in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Weiland Park.
DSU wasted no time to get on the board as senior
Justin DeStaso got the scoring started with an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning that scored junior
JT Anderosky. The Bulldogs did not stop there as they put up a six spot in the first inning to go up 6-0. Junior
Shane Anhalt had a two-RBI single and graduate student
Travis Kerr came through with an RBI single as part of the six-run inning for DeSales.
The Cyclones had a minor rally in the top of the second as they plated two runs to cut the Bulldog lead down to 6-2.
DSU got those runs back in the third inning as sophomore
Jeremy Stranix hit an RBI single to right field and two batters later Kerr tallied an RBI bases loaded walk to push the lead back up to six runs (8-2). Anderosky added one more run in the frame with a sac-fly that brought in Stranix as the lead stood at 9-2 through three innings of play.
DeSales scored one more run in the fourth inning on another RBI single by Anhalt as that would end up being the final tally with the DSU bullpen putting together seven scoreless innings of work.
Senior
Jared Drake took the win in the bullpen game pitching two innings allowing two runs and scattered two hits. Six Bulldog relievers came out of the pen and provided DSU with scoreless outings.
Anhalt went 2-for-2 with a team-high three RBIs and one runs scored, Kerr finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs and one run scored, and Stranix went 1-for-3 with two RBIs along with a team-high two runs scored.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday as they host Misericordia University in game one of an important MAC Freedom series with first pitch set for 3:30pm.
