Center Valley, PA (March 25, 2025) - The DeSales University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with local rival Muhlenberg College, winning game one, 6-3, before dropping game two, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
Game One (W/6-3)
The Bulldogs opened up a 6-0 lead scoring twice in the second, third, and fourth innings. First-yearÂ
Katie Sharkey had a bases loaded walk and sophomore
Kiara Castera had an RBI single in the second inning. First-yearÂ
Katie Llewellyn had an RBI groundout in the third and seniorÂ
Tori Kenney had an RBI single in the fourth.
SeniorÂ
Tabitha Lawless earned the win pitching 6 1/3 strong innings allowing three earned and striking out. JuniorÂ
Riley Long recorded her first save of the year getting the final two outs in the game.
Castera, sophomoreÂ
Paige Hromin, and Kenney each had two hits in the game one win. First-yearÂ
Gianna Angermeier scored twice.
Game Two (L/0-4)
A scoreless game entering the fourth inning saw the Mules scored three unearned runs to take a 3-0 lead and the Bulldogs were unable to recover.
DSU loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out but a fielder's choice and fly out ended the threat.
SeniorÂ
Rachel Lowry recorded her fifth complete-game of the season allowing just one earned over seven innings, striking out three.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday when they host Misericordia University in a MAC Freedom doubleheader beginning at 1:00 pm.
