Center Valley, PA (March 30, 2025) - Senior
Rachel Lowry tossed a one-hit complete-game in game two helping the DeSales University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader with York College (PA) on Sunday afternoon.
Game One (L/0-8)
York scored three unearned runs in the second inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Spartans added two more runs in the fifth and took an 8-0 lead in the sixth to take game one.
DSU had chances to score but left 11 runners on-base including the bases loaded in both the second and fourth innings.
Game Two (W/3-1)
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a bases loaded walk from sophomore
Abigayle Freideman and RBI single from senior
Madison Kelly.
Freideman hit a solo home run in the fifth to make it a 3-1 game and Lowry did the rest.
She retired the side in order in the second, third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings allowing just one hit and striking out seven. It is Lowry's 39th career win, moving her one win short of becoming the third player in team history with 40 wins.
Sophomore
Paige Hromin had two hits in the win.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday when they host Neumann University beginning at 4:30 pm.
