Wayne, NJ (April 1, 2025) - The DeSales University baseball team was shutout, 6-0, to William Paterson University in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
William Paterson opened the scoring in the second inning off an RBI single and tacked on an insurance run in the third inning on a double to right field to take a 2-0 lead through three innings of play.
Pioneers added two more runs in the fourth inning and one run in both the fifth and sixth inning to provide the final tally and the 6-0 shutout win.
DeSales had numerous opportunities to score but were not able to capitalize and got on the board as they left seven runners on base in this one and scattered eight hits all from different players in the loss.
Senior
Alex Chase was charged with the loss pitching four and 1/3 innings allowing four earned runs and eight hits while striking out two.
Junior
Zach Rothermel had a solid outing out the pen for DSU tossing two and 2/3 innings and allowing just one unearned run.
The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow when they host Wilkes University for another non-conference game with first pitch set for 3:30 pm.
