Baseball Drops Both Ends of Home DH with Stevens, 5-4 and 7-3

Center Valley, PA (April 14, 2025) - The DeSales University baseball team dropped both ends of a MAC Freedom doubleheader on Monday evening at Weiland Park falling 5-4 in game one and 7-3 in game two.

Game One (L/4-5)
Stevens took a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning.

DeSales got two of those runs back on an RBI double from graduate student Travis Kerr and a sacrifice fly from senior Owen Fischl but stranded the bases loaded to trail 3-2.

The Ducks got two more runs in the fifth to go ahead 5-2.

The Bulldogs had the first four batters reach base in the bottom of the sixth but a critical base running error limited the runs scored to just two after a two-RBI single from Kerr and DeSales was unable to get a run in the seventh to drop game one.

First-year Jacob Rivera was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Kerr was 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Senior Alex Chase pitched well in relief tossing three scoreless frames allowing just two hits.

Game Two (L/3-7)
A tie game at one in the third inning saw the Ducks score six times to take a 7-1 lead as the Bulldogs committed two errors and hit two batters in the six-run third.

DeSales got runs in the fourth and eighth to make it 7-3 but were unable to get any closer dropping both ends of the twinbill.

Junior JT Anderosky and senior Colin Houck each had two hits in game two.

The bullpen did a terrific as four pitchers combined to throw 6 1/3 scoreless to finish the game.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday as they host local rival Muhlenberg College beginning at 6:00 pm.
