Gash Breaks Faceoff Record in 14-6 Loss at Stevens

Hoboken, NJ (April 16, 2025) - Senior Anthony Gash broke the all-time record for faceoffs won as the DeSales University men's lacrosse team lost 14-6 at #8 Stevens in MAC Freedom action on Wednesday evening.

  • The Bulldogs fall to 3-11 all-time vs. the Ducks.
How it Happened
  • DeSales opened the scoring as junior Jake Hurd scored 53 seconds into the game.
  • The Ducks answered with three straight to end the quarter, the last two coming over a 1:12 span near the end of the quarter.
  • Stevens made it 4-1 to start the second quarter before DSU got one back to pull within three goals.
  • The Ducks out-scored the Bulldogs 3-1 to end the half with a 7-3 lead.
  • It was a 9-3 game after Stevens scored the first two goals of the second-half and the Ducks finished the game scoring five of the last six goals for a 14-6 win.

  • Senior Anthony Gash won 9-of-19 faceoffs giving him 601 faceoff win in his career, breaking the all-time record of 600 held by Dylan Beese.
  • Junior Mark Winkler Jr. led the scoring attack with three goals and an assist.
  • Senior Nate Perry had one goal and one assist.
  • Senior Hunter Waldron made 15 saves in between the pipes.

  • Matthew Pergola led the Ducks with five goals.
