Center Valley, PA (April 17, 2025) - The DeSales University softball team used a three-run sixth inning in game one and scored 12 runs in the first two innings of game two to record a doubleheader sweep of Delaware Valley University in MAC Freedom action on Thursday evening.
Game One (W/3-1)
This game was scoreless entering the bottom of the sixth inning when sophomoreÂ
Paigh Hromin hit an RBI single to give DSU a 1-0 lead and seniorÂ
Tori Kenney blasted a two-run home run off the scoreboard one pitch later to make it a 3-0 game in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Aggies got one run in the top of the seventh but seniorÂ
Rachel Lowry finished off the win with a complete-game effort allowing just one run and striking out six to earn her 10th win of the season.
Kenney finished with two hits in the game one win to lead the offense.
Game Two (W/12-2)
DSU exploded early in this one scoring three times in the first inning and crossed home plate nine times in the second inning to take a 12-0 lead.
First-yearÂ
Gianna Angermeier had a three-RBI double and Hromin has a two-run home run in the second inning to highlight the big inning.
JuniorÂ
Riley Long earned her third win of the year scattering four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five.
SophomoreÂ
Kiara Castera was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Angermeier finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs, and juniorÂ
Shana Gugliandolo was 2-for-2 at the plate. SeniorÂ
Madison Kelly scored twice in game two.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday traveling to Arcadia University for another MAC Freedom doubleheader slated to begin at 11:00 am.
