Center Valley, PA (April 19, 2025) - Senior
Frank Parrotti tossed a complete-game allowing just one run in game one leading the DeSales University baseball team to a doubleheader split in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon at Weiland Park.
The split keeps the Bulldogs in the race for a spot in the MAC Freedom postseason tournament. DSU will needs to win all three games next weekend in its series with King's College and then hope that either Arcadia University loses all three of its games with Lebanon Valley College or Misericordia University loses all three of its games with Stevens.
Game One (W/9-1)
DSU took a 2-0 lead with runs in the second and third innings on a sacrifice fly from sophomore
Jeremy Stranix and RBI single from senior
Colin Houck.
LVC got one run back on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.
The Bulldogs made it a 4-1 game in the fifth scoring two unearned runs and Houck hit a two-out grand slam to put the exclamation point on the game one win in the sixth inning.
Parrott scattered seven hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking just one.
Houck finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs and senior
Owen Fischl walked four times and scored four runs. Graduate student
Travis Kerr had two hits.
Game Two (L/7-20)
Arcadia scored three times in the first inning and four times in the second inning to take a 7-0 lead.
That lead swelled to 10-0 after the Knights scored three more times in the fourth and AU put up eight runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.
DSU committed five errors, leading to six unearned runs, walked 11 batters, and hit seven batters on the mound.
Senior
Justin DeStaso finished 3-for-3 at the plate in a relief role.
DeSales is back in action on Monday night when they host Ursinus College in a non-conference game at Weiland Park beginning at 6:00 pm.
