Women's Lacrosse Drops Conference Opener, 17-13, to Lebanon Valley

Center Valley, PA (April 2, 2025) - The DeSales University women's lacrosse team fell behind 5-0 early and were unable to climb all the way back dropping its MAC Freedom opener and first game of the season, 17-13, to Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday evening.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Lebanon Valley - 17, DeSales - 13
  • Records: DeSales (10-1, 0-1 MAC Freedom); Lebanon Valley (7-4, 1-0 MAC Freedom)
  • DSU falls to 0-2 all-time vs. the Flying Dutchmen.
  • DeSales' school-record win streak ends at 10 games as the Bulldogs suffer their first loss of the season.
How it Happened
  • Lebanon Valley was the aggressor to start the game causing two early turnovers after the Bulldogs won the first two draw controls and scored goals on its first five shots to take a 5-0 lead 5:58 into the game.
  • The Bulldogs settled into the game and pulled to within three goals three times before settling into an 11-7 deficit at the halftime break.
  • After LVC scored the first goal of the second-half, DSU dominated the final seven minutes of the third quarter, scoring three times to pull within two (12-10) heading into the fourth quarter.
  • DSU won the opening draw of the final quarter but immediately turned it over and LVC took advantage scoring the first goal of the quarter and eventually the first three goals to reclaim a five goal lead and the Bulldogs were unable to mount another comeback. 
Top Bulldog Performers
  • Senior Jess Brey led the Bulldogs with four goals and two assists for six points, winning four draw controls.
  • Senior Meagan Landers added four goals and won three draw controls and caused two turnovers.
  • Junior Bridey Lawler had three goals.
  • Junior Danielle Sieja totaled one goal and one assist and had two caused turnovers.
  • Senior Michaela Regan made 10 saves in between the pipes. 
For the Foes
  • 16 of LVC"s 17 goals came from three players as Alyssa Wene had seven goals, Elizabeth Morgan scored five times, and Emily Beard had four goals.
  • Wene added seven draw controls and Chloe Moser totaled nine draw controls.
  • Gigi Ditsky made nine saves in goal. 
Inside the Box Score
  • Shots were about even, 30-29, in favor of LVC.
  • DSU held a slight edge in ground balls, 12-11.
  • LVC dominated the draw winning 22-of-34.
  • The Bulldogs hurt themselves with 15 turnovers in the loss.
